Why should I choose Power Plant Hire?

We are here to make your life easier. Our advice is free, we will listen to what you need and guide you in any way we can.
We invest in our staff to make sure that they have the knowledge and ability to best serve our customers.
We have a high level of investment in up to date equipment.
Equipment is serviced and maintained to the highest levels in our own modern, fully equipped workshops staffed by qualified mechanics.

Power Plant Hire reserves the right to amend, alter our website as well as add new items or withdraw listed items shown. All illustrations, technical details and pictures shown on the website are intended as a guide only and may not be identical to the particular equipment available for hire.  Please ask a member of staff for help or advice on any of our equipment.

Required before you Hire

A deposit is required from all cash customers. Credit or Debit Cards are required for deposits.

Do I need identification?

We look for a photo ID such as a driver’s license or a passport as well as a current utility bill as proof of your Irish address. We will book the equipment out to the person with ID that is signing the contract. You cannot hire on behalf of someone else.

Can I reserve equipment?

Yes, you are advised to book as early as you can, especially for the busy summer and bank holiday periods.

Is there a delivery / collection charge?

Rates for delivery and collection vary with distance and will be quoted when you place your reservation.

Do I need to call for collection?

We will not assume you are finished with an item until you call us to let us know it is ready for collection.

What is my responsibility for equipment return?

Equipment remains on hire (and chargeable) until returned. If you require a collection, please telephone and ensure you obtain an ‘off-Hire’ number. Security of equipment remains your responsibility until returned or collected by us.

What is my responsibility for equipment hire?

Customers are responsible for any equipment hired. The hirer should ensure that they are insured against loss or theft. Proof of Insurance will be required for large items.

What happens if something is damaged, broken or missing?

We do charge for broken or damaged equipment. Be sure equipment is secured when not in use and protected from vandalism or loss.

Do I have to clean the equipment before I return it?

A cleaning charge will be levied if equipment is returned that’s requires extra cleaning.

What about safety and equipment usage?

It is your responsibility to ensure that all operators of hired equipment are properly instructed in its safe and correct use. The hirer must ensure that equipment is not missused.

Equipment Repairs

We also repair and service most leading makes of tools and offer periodic testing of electrical power tools, Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) which is a legal requirement.

Estimating Equipment Repairs

For a nominal charge we will provide an estimate to repair your own equipment. This charge is waived against repair work if the estimate is accepted.
